It was survival of the fittest at its finest—a game she played with them once a month—twice if she was feeling extra vicious. Mother nibbled slowly waiting for the showdown. Father versus daughter, choking like savages. Daughter’s hand shot in like a rocket. She was quick but couldn’t hide the conflict on her face.
